Recruitment Consultant


The Role:

As the ideal candidate, you will see recruitment as a long term career.  You have developed recruitment strategies in your previous role(s) and will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on contributor in all areas related to the recruitment process.  You have experienced rapid growth of an organization and all that goes with it. You think outside of the norm when problem solving and strive to create processes that make sense for the specific circumstance. You proactively search for candidates for today and maintain an understanding of the critical importance of building a strong pipeline of talent for future.   You are able to follow procedure while being flexible and adaptable in your search methods for the ideal candidates.  You must be highly organized in your day to day tasks and a proactive communicator of your progress to hiring managers.

Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, this full-time role is primarily responsible to:

  • Effectively manage a high volume of open positions in various stages at any given time (20+) with very short time to fill requirements;
  • Conduct position needs analysis with hiring managers to ensure positions are properly recruited for;
  • Proactively source candidates through traditional and non-traditional methods;
  • Create and manage Annual Recruitment Calendar of Events (career fairs, school visits, etc) customized to organizational resourcing needs;
  • Maintain various tracking systems on daily basis and create reports as needed;
  • Create, maintain and re-evaluate job postings weekly to ensure all jobs are up to date;
  • Conduct phone screens, initial interviews and HR-led interviews with hiring managers;
  • Prepare thoughtful and thorough interview questions that will highlight candidate’s organizational fit for the position;
  • Complete reference checks and provide insights to hiring manager of what working relationship with the candidate would be like;
  • Draft and present offers of employment to successful candidates
  • Manage the selection and management of third party relationships (job boards, schools, recruitment agencies)
  • Other duties as required


  • Must have a minimum of 3 years dedicated recruitment experience hiring for a variety of positions in short time frames;
  • Proven ability to adapt to and manage changing priorities in a fast paced environment ;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within a team environment;
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as required to meet deadlines if needed;
  • Certificate in Human Resources Management, CPH and/or RPR designation is considered an asset
