Payroll and Accounting Coordinator

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual who is able to manage consistently heavy workloads and tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on accuracy with data entry and data analysis. This person must possess a keen desire to develop their skills and literacy in the area of finance and accounting while maintaining an All-Hands-On-Deck mentality.  Knowledge of ERP Systems and/or post-secondary education plus 2-3 year’s experience would be considered and asset.

  • Adeptly navigates a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while employing flexibility and quick decision-making skills;
  • Proficient at navigating a matrix-style decision-making process and ability to pivot and adjust to new information quickly;
  • Must exhibit a high-level of productivity while working well in an open team environment and can move easily between tasks.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Suite, including experience with accounting worksheet creation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Payroll processing including obtaining hours, data entry, verifying calculations and ensuring government regulations are met
  • Reconciling of accounts related to payroll
  • Payables processing in relation to employee reimbursements and expense reporting
  • Reconciliation and payment of company credit cards
  • Cross training in accounts receivable, invoicing and support the team as needed
  • Reconciliation of other accounts, ad hoc reports and general accounting duties as required
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on items related to benefits administration and employee setup on internal payroll systems
