ORB™ is looking for a Human Resources Manager to support the growth and operation of our organization.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development and administration of companywide human resources policies and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives as well as provincial and federal legal requirements.
  • Develops and manages recruiting and on boarding activities. Provides job candidates by screening, interviewing, and testing applicants; notifying existing staff of internal opportunities; maintaining personnel records; obtaining temporary staff from agencies.
  • Creates job postings for new positions and posts approved positions to applicable forums.
  • Orients new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs.
  • Recommends staff development, succession planning for the organization and the performance appraisal process
  • Develops and manages the exit interview process; develops systems for communicating gathered information to management.
  • Develops and executes best practices to promote employee engagement and to enable a high-performing workforce to contribute to the company’s strategic growth.
  • Reviews and analyzes wage and salary reports and data to establish competitive compensation plans.
  • Executes payroll and manages all employee records.
  • Have a data driven mindset to assess organizational metrics and provide insights to the business.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Respond to questions or complaints from employees in a timely fashion.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an HR management role
  • Strong general knowledge of Human Resources and personnel practices and principals and applicable laws and regulations
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Brand Manager

The Role:
Brand Managers are responsible for ensuring that the products, services and product lines that fall under their domain resonate with current and potential customers. To do so, these professionals continuously monitor marketing trends and keep a close eye on competitive products in the marketplace. They also regularly meet with clients and senior management, and they oversee a team of junior marketers. Working under the Brand Director, Brand Managers serve as the point-person for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives and activities for their particular brand. These initiatives and activities include campaigns (print, web, social media, broadcast, etc.), events, corporate responsibility programs and sponsorships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • responsible for the full lifecycle of a brand
  • creating a brand brief (1 page), that reveals the vision of the brand, used to inform all brand asset management
  • track store sell through and uses this information to make decisions on marketing
  • monitor consumer reactions through focus groups and market research
  • work with the marketing team to plan large sales shows and PR opportunities 
  • handle all requests from sales for marketing collateral- banners, flyers, presentations, etc to ensure sales materials reflect the desired information for the brand
  • oversee the production of TV ads, print ads, email campaigns, websites, and trade shows
  • approve marketing copy
  • consulted on product design
  • generate names for new products
  • works with designers on brand messaging
  • final sign-off on all assets used for the brand including packaging to ensure brand integrity

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in Marketing, or equivalent

3+ Years of experience in consumer goods branding/ marketing

Market Researcher

The Role:
This person is responsible for researching market trends on Social Media, YouTube, in store, in Japan, and through direct end consumer focus groups. By successfully identifying major future trends before they obtain mass market status in North America and internationally, the Market Researcher will help ORB™ be prepared to provide consumers with the products they want to buy. The Market Researcher will be guided by a team of Brand Managers, and will report directly to the Brand Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect data on consumers, competitors and market place
  • Consolidate research information into actionable items, reports, and presentations
  • Understand business objectives and design surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences
  • Analyze customer sales information to identify sales opportunities 
  • Evaluate Inventory at retail including in stocks, weeks supply with recommendations for improving
  • Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect
  • Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendation
  • Use online market research and catalogue findings to database
  • Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation
  • Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties researches and implement best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven market research analysis experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office
  • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management programs
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling and mining

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase order management and summary
    • Manage back orders, change requests, special labels or packing requirements
    • Summarize and report on orders in hand
    • Coordinate efforts with Purchasing, HK/China Sourcing, US Warehouse and other teams to ensure on time shipping and compliance with customer requirements
  • Prepare and maintain customer set-up documentation, agreements, and other customer documentation as requested
  • Create and maintain customer files

Social Media Coordinator

Responsibilities include:

  • Making finished “demo” samples of our products for sales presentation including painting 3D figures, sculpting, completing various activity kit projects, etc...
  • Mounting and assembling signage and other merchandising materials for trade shows.

Export Manager

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process a high volume of import/export shipments via ocean, ground and air.
  • Working closely with and supporting our Hong Kong Operations Team on Logistics requirements.
  • Working with carriers to obtain freight quotes, pricing/negotiations, and tracking to invoicing.
  • Execute all documentation and requirements for import and export shipments.
  • Manage all inbound and outbound shipment schedules relative to the Customer and/or Operational requirements.
  • Manage details of multiple projects in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Daily tracking and tracing on all shipments/modes.
  • Working closely with our customs broker regarding day-to-day needs.

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of the required duties and documentation when importing and exporting worldwide (Air & Ocean).
  • Previous experience in freight forwarding/logistics industry.
  • Bachelors Degree and completion and/or enrollment in SCMP, CCLP, CITT or equivalent will be preferred.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not required.
